Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has scheduled the ‘Viksit Delhi’ budget for 2025–26 to be presented to Assembly proceedings between March 24 and March 26. The budget strategy involves gathering public recommendations to establish a government approach that invites citizen participation. During a media briefing with ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh and Ashish Sood, along with Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the CM declared that budgetary participation from citizens remains essential for budget creation.
The implementation of this budget as a people’s budget demands meetings with women’s organization representatives at the assembly premises scheduled for March 5. She declared that discussions with education sector stakeholders and traders will take place on March 6. The government has established an email ID ViksitDelhiBudget_25@delhi.gov.in together with a WhatsApp number 999962025 to enable Delhi residents to directly send their budget proposals.
Key Focus Areas of the Budget
The upcoming budget will prioritize multiple development initiatives, including:
- Financial Assistance for Women: Strengthening support systems for women across different sectors.
- Healthcare Expansion: Improving medical infrastructure and accessibility.
- Public Transport Enhancement: Promoting eco-friendly transport solutions.
- Pollution Control Measures: Addressing Delhi’s air and water pollution issues.
- Cleaning the Yamuna River: revitalizing one of Delhi’s most crucial water bodies.
- Employment Generation: Creating new job opportunities for the youth and workforce.
- Senior Citizen Welfare: Enhancing schemes for the elderly population.

The BJP government affirmed its commitment to deliver all the promises from the ‘Sankalp Patra’ as Gupta instructed fast-paced execution of every objective. Gupta simultaneously pointed out financial improper conduct and management shortcomings, which he believed plagued the preceding AAP government.

AAP Under Scrutiny Over CAG Reports
The Chief Minister highlighted the financial discrepancies discovered through two Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports that had been submitted to the assembly, while another twelve reports remained under assessment. The leader expressed her criticism against the AAP government for misleading the public through fraudulent honesty practices despite their noted financial incompetence.
