The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) established collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in Goa to create India’s biggest hospitality training center through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The Government of Goa established this project as an effort to expand workforce possibilities for young people across its highly popular tourist destination.
The MOU signing event happened with Honorable Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant as well as Secretary Prasad Lolayekar IAS and Director S S Gaonkar of Goa’s Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The directorial presence of Mr. Puneet Chhatwal as IHCL Managing Director and CEO, together with Ms. Deepika Rao and Mr. Ranjit Phillipose, joined IHCL representatives to attend the ceremony.
IHCL has accumulated more than 50 years of experience in Goa hotel leadership and aggressively develops skilled professionals in the hospitality industry. The facility functions as a crucial element of IHCL’s ESG+ framework known as Paathya to help remedy the employability gap by delivering specialized training programs for youth professionals.
The MD & CEO of IHCL, Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, declared that IHCL continues leading Goa’s hospitality sector while working to enhance the state’s hospitality development. The new training facility will teach potential professionals essential abilities needed to succeed in the travel and tourism sector.
The partnership between IHCL and Goa demonstrates the commitment to develop new employment opportunities through which Chief Minister Shri Pramod Sawant supports sustainable tourism growth goals.
Comprehensive Training Programs for Future Hospitality Professionals
Specialized training programs at the center match the developing requirements of the hospitality industry. The training programs will target different areas of focus that consist of:

- Food production
- Food and beverage service
Additionally, the center will provide industry-based internships, offering practical exposure in corporate environments, thus bridging the gap between education and employment.
