Prime Minister Narendra Modi experienced touching moments during his visit to the Vantara Wildlife Rescue Center in Gujarat while interacting with endangered animals. The facility located in Jamnagar keeps more than 1.5 lakh animals, representing over 2,000 species of wildlife.
The Prime Minister spent his time at Vantara closely interacting with Asian Lion cubs as well as a rare Clouded Leopard cub together with a White Lion cub. The caracal breeding program stands vital for preserving this endangered species, and that is what Modi learned at the center. The Prime Minister witnessed medical treatments at the facility while observing an MRI examination on an Asian Lion and critical surgery for a leopard hit by vehicles on the highway.

During his visit, PM Modi provided nutrition to specific wildlife, including Snow Tigers together with Snow Leopards as well as four Snow Tiger male siblings who escaped from a circus. The Prime Minister of India engaged with rescued chimpanzees as well as interacted with rescued orangutans and encountered several exotic animals, such as submerged hippopotamus, Okapi, and multiple crocodiles. During his visit, he roamed alongside zebras while feeding a giraffe, and his destination led him to a rhino calf whose mother left it at the facility.
PM Modi toured Vantara’s top-tier wildlife hospital along with its elephant facility, which stands as the largest hospital of its kind in the world, and he examined the therapy pool used for elephants that required assistance with movement. The Prime Minister held conversations with dedicated veterinarians along with staff members who worked at the rehabilitation facility to care for rescued animals at the center.
